After the past year of many discussions between AIMS representatives, the Dean and the representatives from the kolejs, an agreement has been made concerning the pricing of rooms in dormitories available to international students of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine. 

All LF2 international students are now finally able to apply for the lower-priced rooms in kolejs (for the same prices paid by the czech students.) The rules, application form and important details on the application procedure can be found at the following website: http://kam.cuni.cz/KAM-90.html

2) Select: Procedure on the transfer of students paying for study programmes in the English language, to space intended for students studying programmes in the Czech language

GETTING YOUR VISA

Since May 2004, the Czech Republic has been a full member of the European Union. International students coming from the EU countries do NOT need a visa. However, for all other countries, the student visa is required if the stay is planned for more than 90 days.

Your visa application should be submitted to the Czech Embassy at least 60 days before the planned date of your departure from your respective country of residence. Please note: It is NOT possible to APPLY for the visa in the Czech Republic. Only the extension of this visa will be possible in the Czech Republic.

Some students apply for their visa in the Czech Consulate located in Dresden, Germany.

Documents required by the Czech Embassies/Consulates for VISA Application:

1. Passport (its validity needs to exceed your intended stay in CZR by at least 3 months)

2. Letter of acceptance (from Charles University 2nd Medical School-Study Department)

3. Confirmation of accommodation in the Czech Republic (from your landlord)

4. Confirmation from your bank that you have sufficient financial means on your account to support your stay in Czech Rep. ( at least 80000 Kc)- bring bank statement/ credit card

5. Confirmation of no criminal records in your home country (the Police Record)

6. Confirmation of no criminal records in the Czech Republic (the Police Record form is available at the Embassies/ Consulates)

7. Health insurance (suggestions: VZP, UNIQA students health insurance)

8. Birth certificate

9. ‘Zadost form’, this green form can be obtained at the Foreign Police office

10. 3 passport photographs

 

 

Documents required by the Czech Foreign Police for VISA Extension:

 

1. Passport

2. ‘Zadost form’, this green form can be obtained at the Foreign Police office

3. Letter of confirmation of studies for University (from Study Department)

4. Confirmation of accommodation in the Czech Republic (from your landlord)

5. Bank statement/credit card

6. 2 passport photos

7. Heath insurance (suggestions: VZP, UNIQA student health insurance)

8. 1000 kc stamp (also known as kolek-can be bought at the tabak shops right next to the Foreign Police office)

1) Take metro-Yellow line to Florence, then take bus 133 to Tachovske namesti, Walk three blocks up to foreign police building.

2) OR Take metro-green line to Starometska, then take bus 133 directly to Tachovske namesti.


*Make sure you bring ALL of your documents with you, it makes the process a lot easier and faster!

*For first-timers, it is advised to bring someone with you who is familiar with the Foreign Police.*
